Feilding Police need your help to identify two people after a resident in the East Street area was cut with a knife after disturbing one of the pair inside his home.

Around 11.50am on Monday 19, September, the victim was working in his study when he heard footsteps on the deck. He didn’t think much of it initially, but on hearing footsteps inside his home went to investigate. He disturbed the intruder who then ran outside, chased by the victim. The intruder tried to jump a fence and although the victim managed to grab hold of him, a second male on the other side of the fence threatened to stab the homeowner if he didn’t let go. The victim thought he was bluffing, but the male on the other side of the fence then stabbed his arm with a thin bladed knife, forcing the victim to let go.

Police have CCTV footage of the two males jumping the fence and running north from the property. It’s unknown where they headed to next. As a result of area inquiries Police discovered that a neighbour saw two males matching the description a few minutes before the attack. The pair had been acting suspiciously on other people's properties.

Police are appealing for anyone living in the East Street area of Feilding to check their home security from Monday 19 September around 11:50am.If you have captured images of people walking through your property without good reason to be there, then please provide this footage to Police.
