On Saturday 13 August at 4:30am a young man’s enjoyable night out in central Wellington ended up with a stay in hospital after an unprovoked coward’s punch sent him reeling. The victim was waiting for his friends to get food when he was punched, knocked unconscious and left bleeding from a head injury.

The attacker is described as:

  • Male
  • Caucasian
  • Approximately 181cm / 5’11”
  • Dark pants with blue or black top.

There were many people on Courtenay Place that night. The assault occurred at 4:30am in front of the kebab shop on Courtenay Place near Taranaki Street. There was another unrelated  altercation towards Tory Street that might help to job your memory.
