On Sunday night, 10th April a group of males used machetes in an aggravated robbery at Lochview Dairy on Paerata Road in Pukekohe.

At 7:28pm a stolen blue Mazda Atenza GFG870 pulled up in front of the dairy and four males exited the vehicle with their faces covered. The store workers fled calling Police while the group carried out the robbery. One of the suspects has jumped the counter and taken cigarettes. Two of the suspects carried machetes while the fourth carried a bag. Once they had the cigarettes, they grabbed some cash and headed out to the waiting driver.

The entire robbery takes less than a minute, and there is excellent CCTV footage which captures the incident including audio from someone believed to be the driver.

Five minutes after the robbery happened, the stolen vehicle was found burnt out on Beatty Road.

As a result of this aggravated robbery, the victims have been traumatised and have installed a wire barrier around the counter to help make themselves feel safe.

Police believe someone in this group will have talked about the incident. We need to hear from you to help stop this behaviour as it will likely repeat unless this group is caught.

If you recognise the voices, clothing or weapons from anyone in the group, have heard who was involved or saw the stolen blue Mazda Atenza GFG870 between the afternoon of Saturday 9th April and the evening of Sunday 10th April – Police need to hear from you.
