Identification confirmed

Regional Coroner Sue Johnson has today established the identification of the person who died in Little Akaloa yesterday and confirms it is Professor Sir Donald Beaven. Provisional post-mortem findings indicate he likely died of smoke inhalation.
The Coroner has opened an inquiry into the cause and circumstances of his death and the Fire Service is investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
