Car hits house in Naenae, Lower Hutt

At about 9.25pm, police were advised that a car had crashed into a house on the corner of Naenae Road and Gibson crescent in Lower Hutt.

The Toyota Corolla sedan has lost control and hit the front of the brick house. There were two male occupants in the car at the time of the accident. The passenger has suffered moderate injuries while the driver had to be cut from the car by the Fire Service. He has serious but not life threatening injuries.

No one in the house was injured but the house has structural damage where the car has hit it.

The exact cause of the accident is unclear and the Serious Crash Unit has been called in to investigate.

A section of Naenae Road was closed for several hours while a scene examination was carried out.
