Waikato Serious Crash Unit investigators are today returning to the scene of Monday's fatal crash in Waharoa that claimed a woman's life.

Jennifer Anne DORRIAN, 65, of Matamata died in Waikato Hospital's Intensive care Unit yesterday as a result of injuries suffered in the crash that happened on SH27 about 3.30pm.

Waikato Road Policing Manager, Inspector Leo Tooman, said the crash investigators would be carrying out further analysis to establish the cause of the crash that saw Mrs DORRIAN'S car leave the road and crash through a fence.

"Until the cause can be established the best advice we can give to motorists is to adhere to familiarise themselves with the aspects of the fatal five factors of road crashes.

"Those are speed, alcohol, keeping left or not crossing the centreline, ensuring you're wearing your seatbelt, dangerous and reckless driving. If you're safely managing your driving and the driver coming towards you is doing the same it greatly reduces the risk of any tragedy."
