Remains Not Human

1 min read

An earth moving company was excavating at a site at the Kingston foreshore at around midday when a digger operator unearthed what was believed to be human remains which were shallowly located.

Since the matter was reported to police, an initial scene examination has taken place this afternoon with police and a pathologist.

This examination has confirmed that the remains located are not human and are believed to possibly be a sheep.

"It's understandable that there is speculation about these matters but this outcome demonstrates why police exercise caution in these kinds of circumstances," Southern District Crime Services Manager, Detective Inspector Steve McGregor

The scene will be released in the near future.
