Police cordons are still in place following a peaceful resolution to the recent situation in Palmerston North.
We appreciate many residents are anxious to return to their homes but ask for their continued patience while officers help to facilitate that.
Cordons are still in place at the following locations:
* Benidgo Avenue and Benmore Avenue
* Benmore Avenue and Gillespies Line
* Gillespies Line and Herbet Avenue.
We expect these cordons to be lifted by 6pm. All other cordons have been lifted.
Once again, Police extend huge thanks to the Maori wardens, the Highbury marae and other community members who opened their doors to assist people who have been disrupted by this incident.
