Dangerous offender sought

Phillip John Smith - is on the run and considered dangerous. If you see him, call Police.

Auckland City Police urgently want to locate Phillip John Smith, a serious offender who was temporarily released from Springhill Prison near Huntly on Thursday, November 6. Smith, a Caucasian aged 40, is a convicted murderer and has an extensive criminal history. He is regarded as dangerous and should not be approached by members of the public. He was intending to stay with an associate in Waterview, Auckland, but failed to arrive on Thursday. Authorities were only advised of this recently. It is possible he may make his way to the Manawatu or Wellington regions.

Anyone who knows where he is or has information relating to his activities over the past four days should contact Police immediately on 111.
