State Highway 1 is down to one lane near Aotea, Wellington due to a bus that has caught fire.
The fire was reported at 10:40am.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand is attending and Police is working with them to resolve the closure as quickly as possible.
The passengers are off the bus and uninjured.
Motorists are advised to expect significant delays and urged to avoid the area if possible.
