Community Roadwatch

Report a bad driver

The Community Roadwatch programme provides an alternative method to try and improve driver bahaviour. It allows you to report unsafe or risky driving behaviour you have observed where you do not wish the offender to be prosecuted.

The Police will regard your Community Roadwatch report as confidential; in accordance with the provisions of the law as it relates to privacy and disclosure of information. Your report will be assessed and, where an offence and vehicle can be clearly identified, Police will contact the owner of the vehicle to advise them of the allegation made and of the expected standards of driver behaviour. If the assessment of your report reveals a serious offence, you may be contacted by Police and asked to consider making a formal complaint.

No investigation or prosecution will take place for a Community Roadwatch report. If you wish the incident to be investigated with a view to the offender being prosecuted you must lodge a formal complaint at your nearest police station.

You can also download the Community Roadwatch form [in PDF format] print it out, complete, and post to the address provided on the form.

For emergencies phone 111 or contact for your local police station.
