Welcome to the Bay of Plenty Police District.

We cover the area from Katikati in the north; through to the northernmost tip of the Bay of Plenty in the east; reaching into the central North Island south of Turangi. Our map of the Bay of Plenty District shows your nearest police station.

The district is a mix of busy urban centres, holiday resorts, horticultural areas, small farming settlements, isolated coastline, and mountainous terrain.

There are 23 police stations are scattered throughout the district. Our biggest station is in Rotorua. It's also the location of our District Headquarters. A large number of staff are also stationed in Tauranga. Our district phonebook provides phone, fax and address details.

Almost 30 percent of our district's population is Maori.

In May 1999 we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with our major Iwi - the first in the country. It commits Police and Maori to work together to find solutions, cut crime and reduce victimisation.
