Wellington Police have arrested the male sought as part of the Armed Offenders Squad search of a Miramar property at 7.30 pm last night.

Police were seeking to locate the man after they attended an unrelated incident at the Townsend Road property yesterday morning.

At the property six firearms and a stun gun were located and seized along with a significant amount of ammunition.

Police also seized a large quantity of cannabis, $4,500 in cash, over 4,000 suspected ecstasy pills and approximately 3,000 LSD tabs. The total minimum estimated street value for all of the drugs is $135,000.

A 25-year-old female was arrested at the property and will appear jointly in the Wellington District Court today.

A 32-year-old male with gang connections was not located at the Townsend Road address last night but handed himself into Police today.

The pair will appear this afternoon in the Wellington District Court facing a total of 14 charges.

This includes 11 weapons and ammunition related charges and three charges relating to the supply of drugs.

Detective Senior Sergeant Donna Howard of the Wellington CIB says "The seizure of these drugs will place a significant dent in this organised criminal activity.

"Getting these weapons off the street will prevent further offending and help make our communities safer".
