Aotea Square woman’s name released

The woman who died in Aotea Square in the early hours of Wednesday morning was Maria de Silva, a 53 year-old Mangere resident who worked as a sales representative.

Police have notified next of kin and are investigating the circumstances around her death on behalf of the Coroner.

Officer in charge of the inquiry a series of arsons on the same night, Detective Senior Sergeant Jon Moss, said the inquiry team hoped to complete the scene examination at the badly damaged Guardian Trust building today.

&#34We’ll also be looking closely at video surveillance footage and evaluate its value to the inquiry,&#34 he said.
