Police seek witnesses to robbery

Police in Hastings need your help to identify a witness and ultimately the offenders for an armed robbery that occurred around 4.50pm on Saturday 8 May 2004.

It was reported to Police that two armed males entered the Windsor Park Store, located at the Louie Street and Windsor Avenue in Hastings. They attempted to rob the storekeeper of cash but left empty handed.

Police are keen to identify a person described as a male Maori aged in his early 20s, clean-shaven, of medium build and approximately 5’6" in height. He was wearing a black beanie and black t-shirt, armed with what is described as a small black hand-gun.

The second person Police seek is also described as a male Maori, around 17 to 18 years of age who was wearing a black item across his face. He also wore a black t-shirt and had in his possession a knife. This person was carrying a cream coloured back-pack.

Witnesses describe the pair as cycling in an Easterly direction up Louie Street and around the bend toward Ada Street.

Police are very keen to identify and interview any witnesses to this crime, in particular a male customer who was in the store a short time before the incident.
