1 min read

Three people are currently being interviewed by Hamilton Police following an armed incident in the City early this morning in which two young girls were threatened.

Acting Senior Sergeant Jason McKay said shortly before 2am Police received a call from a distressed girl that two men, one armed with a gun had broken into her Bankwood Rd home.

The caller told Police she was 14 and there was a similarly aged female friend with her in the house at the time.

The offenders are alleged to have used an air rifle to smash a ranch slider door to gain entry to the house and threatened the two girls.

Neither girl was injured and the offenders fled the area in a red car.

A short time later the Waikato Armed Offenders Squad cordoned off an address in the suburb Rototuna.
