Huntly Police are seeking the public's assistance in finding the man responsible for the robbery of the town's Post-Shop yesterday.

Detective Dale Anderson of the Huntly CIB said a man entered the store and presented the teller a note demanding about 9:38am.

"He then fled the store, which is on Main St, on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash."

The offender is described as a Maori or Polynesian male aged 35 - 50 years of slim to athletic build and of average height.

"He may have a ponytail and was wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded sweatshirt with a white pattern in front and a dark brown oilskin vest over the hooded sweatshirt.

"He was also wearing a yellow and red baseball cap," said Mr Anderson.

Anybody with any information on the man's identity is asked to contact Detective Mr Anderson at the Huntly Police station on 07 8287560.
