The name of a driver killed in a collision on the north side of Hamilton yesterday afternoon has been released.
He was Israel Maki Tane PORTER, 27, of Gordonton.
Mr PORTER died at the scene of the crash which happened at the intersection of Gordonton and Puketaha Roads shortly before 4pm yesterday.
His death has been reported to the Coroner.
Six people, believed to be contractors, travelling in the Toyota van struck by Mr Porter's Mazda 323 car were taken to Waikato Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A Police pursuit of Mr PORTER'S car had been abandoned a short time before the crash.
Four investigations into circumstances leading up to and including the crash are currently underway and no further information is available on that crash until those investigations have been completed.
