A scene guard was in place at a Nawton address overnight following the discovery of a man's body in his home yesterday morning.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton of the Hamilton CIB said Police were called to the Roy St address by ambulance staff shortly before 9am.

"An area canvas and scene examination was carried out yesterday and the body of the man, believed aged in his forties, was removed from the house shortly before 5pm.

"A post-mortem due to be carried out in Auckland today will help us determine if there are any suspicious circumstances related to the man's death," said Mr Thornton.

The man's death has been reported to the Coroner.
