Auckland Detectives have today confirmed the identity of the young Chinese man whose body was recovered from a suitcase in the Waitemata Harbour yesterday. The man's family in China have been informed of his death.

He was WAN Biao, 19 years, a Student from Cook Street, Auckland. He had been in New Zealand since the end of August 2005.

Detective Inspector Bernie Hollewand said that Police staff were today examining the man's home and had taken possession of his car. They were also talking to his associates and friends.
