Woman killed in road crash is named

The woman who died in a road crash in Shannon on Thursday (17 June) has today been positively identified as 64-year-old Hilary Ruth Drawneek from Linton.

The crash happened around 12.30pm when a Toyota 4WD towing a trailer south along the highway appears to have lost control and left the road. The vehicle collided with a power pole, rolled over, and caught fire.

Hilary Drawneek, known to friends and family as 'Ruth', was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
