Grateful for offers of rewards

1 min read

The team investigating the shooting of Scott Guy would like to thank the community for its support and generous offers of rewards.

Detective Inspector Sue Schwalger said: "There have been a number of offers from various groups throughout this investigation and these have been discussed with Scott's family.

Any offer of a reward needs to be carefully considered so that the investigation is not hampered by misleading information that may take us away from the real focus of this investigation; and that is the successful investigation and prosecution of the person or people responsible for the killing of Scott Guy.

Police have had a steady flow of information and are following a number of leads. A reward phase is always considered for an investigation of this nature, however there are a number of implications, both legal and evidential that have to be centrally managed to achieve the most appropriate outcome."

Police still want to hear from anyone with information relevant to the death of Scott Guy. To speak to a member of the investigation team, contact 0800 808585. Alternatively information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
