A body has been located following a house fire in Shannon early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the fire in a Julyan Street home at 2.30am this morning.
Detective Constable Doug Patrick from Levin Police says the house is still being damped down by the fire service, and the cause of the fire is not yet known.
A scene examination will be carried out today.
Police say one person was living at the address.
Police are not releasing any details about the age or sex of the body until next of kin have been informed.
