At about 6pm last night Police and LandSAR volunteers searching for a missing 22 year old Woodville woman located a body near the Wharite Peak communication tower in the Ruahine Ranges.
The scene remained under Police guard overnight and a full scene examination will be undertaken today.
The matter has now been reported to the Coroner.
Police are providing support to the family at this very sad time.
The name of the deceased will not be released until formal identification has been completed.
