Paeroa homicide investigation update

1 min read

Waikato Police are continuing to make good progress in their inquiries into the murder of Paeroa businessman Jordan Voudouris.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Whitehead said interim post mortem results had provided Police with a clear indication of how Mr Voudouris had received the injuries that caused his death. However, Police were not in a position to provide the details at this time.

“This information may prove vital to catching the offender and solving this homicide, so Police will not be commenting on those details at this stage of the investigation.”

Mr Whitehead said Mr Voudouris’ family had been kept informed.

“In the meantime, further examination of CCTV coverage in Paeroa shows a number of people walking or driving through the town during the late evening on Sunday and early morning on Monday,” he said.

“Police are working to identify these people so they can be spoken to, but this is a time consuming and painstaking process. We therefore ask that anyone who may have been in the area between 10pm on Sunday the 17th of June and 6am on Monday the 18th to please make contact. They may have information that will assist to identify the person or persons responsible for Mr Voudouris' death.”

The Police can be contacted at the Paeroa Police Station on 07 862 8744.

Alternatively information can be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
