Body found in Tauranga Harbour

At approximately 11.30am this morning a member of the public located a body in knee deep water on the western side of the Omokoroa Peninsula.

Police believe the body is that of missing 23-year-old Tauranga man Shaun Hogarth. Mr Hogarth went missing in Tauranga Harbour after a boating incident on Tuesday, 16 October.

Mr Hogarth's family have been advised that a body has been located.

The family have asked for privacy to deal with their grief.

Police will attempt to formally identify the body later today.

The matter will now be referred to the Coroner and Police will be making no further comment.
