Police are no longer seeking 22-year-old Tauranga man Liam Kane.
Liam was wanted for breach of home detention having disappeared after surviving a fatal boating accident last month in Tauranga Harbour.
Police located and arrested Liam in Ngatai Road, Tauranga late on Friday night (9 November).
He appeared at Tauranga District Court yesterday where he pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching home detention, theft of the dinghy involved in the fatal accident and an unrelated assault. For those offences and the original drug offence for which he had been initially granted home detention he was sentenced to a total of 19 months imprisonment.
