1 min read

Police in Tokoroa are searching for the caregivers of a young boy found wandering in the town late last night.

The boy, who is estimated to be about two years old, was first seen by a member of the public in the Carrington Crescent area of the town at approximately 9.30pm. At 11pm the same member of the public saw the boy again in the Carrington Crescent area and contacted police.

Police collected the boy who was cold, upset and seemed disorientated. He is currently being looked after by CYF and all area enquiries throughout the night have been unsuccessful in locating the caregivers.

A team of officers are continuing those enquiries but want to hear from anyone who has information about the boy.

He is European, has short blond hair and is wearing grey shorts and a red singlet.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tokoroa Police on 07 886 5189.

Media enquiries should be referred to Communications Manager Kim Perks on 027 234 8256.
