1 min read

Two men are appearing in the Christchurch District Court today after a man was found last night in a Christchurch house with serious burn injuries.

Police and emergency services were called to a house in Opawa around 7pm last night where they found a 55-year-old man with burn injuries. He is currently in Christchurch Hospital being treated for those injuries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Darryl Sweeney of Canterbury CIB said a team of detectives was investigating the matter.

"We are still working through the circumstances of what happened at the house last night and we are currently not in a position to make further commentary until more facts are known," Mr Sweeney said.

The two men in court today are facing charges of wounding causing grievous bodily harm.
