Wellington Police are advising there has been a two car crash near the Grenada North exit of the Wellington motorway on Takapu Road.
One person has died at the scene with their passenger receiving serious injuries. The occupant of the second vehicle is assisting Police.
Police are advising those wanting to use the Grenada North exit to access areas around Jamaica Drive that they will need to use the Tawa exit of the motorway.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible as we come up to peak traffic flows.
With the wet weather conditions, Police continue to remind people to keep their speed down, put their lights on and check their following distances.
