Youth Missing In West Auckland

West Auckland Police are appealing to the public for any sightings or known whereabouts of a 15 year old youth who is missing from his Henderson home.

ROTA / Ohomairangi - was reported missing on Saturday 5 April 2008 by his mother.

Ongoing police enquiries reveal the last sighting of the youth was while he was walking on Henderson Valley Road. This was just prior to 8.00am on the morning of Tuesday 15 April 2008. The sighting was made by a family relative.

"Detective Sergeant Sean HYLAND-MILLS of the Henderson CIB says police are concerned that the missing youth has not made any contact with his mother for more than three weeks and that he has not attended at his school.

"He is a student at Hato Petera College on the North Shore. We urge the boy to contact his mother to tell her that he is safe and that he will return home."

The missing student is described as:

ROTA / Ohomairangi - [ROTA - is correct Surname]

Male - Maori - DOB 25/02/1993 - Aged 15 years

Student at Hato Petera College - North Shore

Slim build - 178 cm tall

Has a Maori design tattoo on his left forearm - Has a birth mark on the outer side of his left knee - Clothing not known although he frequently wears a beanie

"We're aware he has recently been seen busking on local streets on the North Shore and that he has family contacts in Whangarei. Anyone who has sighted this missing youth or has information on his present whereabouts can contact Henderson CIB on 09 839 0653," Mr. HYLAND-MILLS said.
