Police are seeking witnesses to a domestic dispute which began at Eastgate Mall car park and continued along Linwood Avenue yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 22nd July 2008.

It began at 2.50pm in the carpark outside Westpac Eastgate. The male offender and female victim got into a Mitsubishi vehicle and drove out of the car park.

As the vehicle was travelling on Cranley Street and on to Linwood Avenue, the front passenger door was wide open.

The 42 year old male has since been arrested and charged with Male Assaults Female.

In looking for witnesses Constable Marriott says that he believes that there were many people in the area and the commotion caused a lot of attention. Members of the public were alarmed by screaming and by the defendant's driving.

Any witnesses please contact Constable Kenneth MARRIOTT, Central Group 5, phone 363 7400.
