Aggravated robbery arrest

Palmerston North Police have made an arrest in relation to an aggravated robbery where a man was viciously assaulted by four people in King Street on Saturday 15 November, 2014.

As part of the ongoing investigation into this crime as well as two other crimes which may be linked, two search warrants were executed at properties in Palmerston North today.

A 21-year-old male was located at one of the properties and he has been charged with aggravated robbery and intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He will appear in the Palmerston North District Court tomorrow (Saturday 22 November, 2014).

Detective Sergeant Dave Thompson says: "We are continuing with our inquiries in an effort to identify the three other offenders involved in this cowardly attack."

"We have information that we are following up on and we are continuing to review CCTV footage, however we still want to speak to anyone that has any information about this incident and I encourage them to contact Police."
