1 min read

Counties Manukau Police are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred on Saturday the 5th of July 2014.

At approximately 8:30pm four males entered the Ti Rakau Drive Thirsty Liquor. One male has picked up some alcohol and attempted to walk out of the store. This male has been confronted by the lone employee; another male from the group has suddenly attacked the employee, with all four males taking part in the assault.

The employee has been punched and kicked numerous times, before being struck on the head with a bottle of spirits with such force that the bottle has shattered.

The four males left the store taking with them some Corona beers and a few bottles of spirits.

The employee was rendered unconscious during the assault and hospitalised, he has since been released from hospital.

“It is very concerning that these offenders have used such extreme violence against this defenceless victim” says Detective Senior Sergeant Darrell Harpur.

Anyone with information relating to this incident should contact Detective James Ralph or Detective Sergeant John Love at Counties Manukau East Police on 09 2502800. To provide information anonymously you can contact the organisation Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
