AOS callout in Christchurch

At approximately 4.45am this morning (20 November 2014) Police responded to a report of a person with a firearm.

The area around the address in the central city was cordoned off by Police and the Canterbury Armed Offender Squad attended to clear the address.

The property on Gloucester St (between Fitzgerald Ave and Barbadoes St) was cleared without incident and a number of firearms were located.  The property will be searched today by a specialist Police search team.

Six men were arrested and are being interviewed by Police.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
