Arrest following incident involving Poppy Day collector in Tauranga

A 47-year-old man has been arrested following an incident involving Poppy Day collectors in Tauranga.

The man has been charged with disorderly behaviour and is due to appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow (Tuesday 1 May).

Members of the public reported a man yelling and swearing at Defence Force members collecting for Poppy Day in Red Square, Tauranga on Friday 20 April.

The incident was also captured on video.

Police are of aware ongoing concerns in this area and are working with Tauranga City Council to try and resolve the issues.
