Police can confirm that one person has been arrested in Ohakune in connection with the search for Dolphy Kohu and five associates, who were involved in an armed incident in Whanganui last night.
The search for Mr Kohu and those associates is continuing, and police continues to warn the public in the central North Island to be on the alert for anything suspicious.
Police will not be disclosing any further information about the arrested person at this time.
The next media briefing will be held at the Central District Headquarters, Cuba Street, Palmerston North at 4pm this afternoon.
