Auckland City Police have this afternoon arrested a 39-year-old man in relation to the discovery of an unconscious man at Victoria Park on Monday morning.
The arrested man will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow (Wednesday 17 February) charged with common assault.
The 50-year-old victim remains in Auckland Hospital.
Police investigations into the incident are continuing and Detective Sergeant Kath Bostock says Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the Victoria Park area in the early hours of Monday morning.
