The body of an elderly man was found by Police in a Housing New Zealand apartment block in Dixon Street, Te Aro.
It appears the body has been there for some time and the death is not thought to be suspicious.
Police are working through the process to formally identify the man and a post-mortem will be carried out tomorrow.
Police were alerted to the man’s body by neighbours who had not seen the man for some time.
Police are working closely with Housing New Zealand on this matter.
The matter has been referred to the Coroner.
