Manawatu Police can now release the name of a man who died in a single vehicle crash on Parewanui Road, yesterday (5 December, 2014) evening.
He was Logan Coleman-Prestige, aged 26 of Palmerston North.
The crash occurred at approximately 5pm and the vehicle, which Mr Coleman-Prestige was a passenger in, is believed to have veered off the road before colliding with a solid fence on the opposite side of the road.
The 30-year-old male driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Palmerston North Hospital.
Officers have not yet formally spoken to the man, however, preliminary indications suggest that alcohol and speed may have been factors to the crash.
While a scene examination has been completed, the crash investigation is ongoing, and the death has now been referred to the Coroner.
