Statement attributable to Inspector Peter Cooper, Canterbury Rural Area Commander
Inquiries are ongoing after a pedestrian was killed on SH1 south of Dunsandel last night.
The crash happened at around 11.30pm on the highway between Sharlands Road and Sheats Road.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and noticed the 40-year-old woman walking on the highway.
The driver of the car involved is assisting Police with the ongoing inquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to contact their local Police station.
