1 min read

Canterbury Police District Commander, Superintendent Gary Knowles will present 13 Police staff with long service medals, awards and a District Commanders Commendation in Ashburton and Timaru today.

Police staff supported by their colleagues and families will gather for the awards ceremony at 10am at Ashburton Police Station and 2pm at Timaru Police Station respectively.

Rural Area Commander for Canterbury Police, Inspector Dave Gaskin, says  “we are holding a separate awards ceremony for staff in Ashburton and Timaru to allow their friends and families to attend."

Police staff across our District pull together as one extended team and today is an opportunity to acknowledge their dedication.   We are proud to serve the community and that shared sense of pride enables us to make the District a safe place for everyone.

13 staff will receive medals, badges, star and clasps recognising long service and good conduct for between 14 and 35 years working for New Zealand Police.  The District Commander will also present a Commendation Certificate.
