Christchurch Police seeking public help in a hit and run

1 min read

On Thursday 26 May, about 5.20pm, a male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while using the pedestrian crossing outside Supervalue on Edgeware Road.

CCTV footage shows the pedestrian walking onto the crossing outside Supervalue but then moves out of the camera range. Police have reason to believe a person may have helped him back up after being hit.

Footage also shows a woman coming out of Supervalue at the same time who may have witnessed the incident. She is described as Caucasian, with dark blonde hair, wearing a black and grey dress, black leggings, and gold bangles on her left arm.

Police would like to speak to this woman and ask any other witnesses to also come forward.

Witnesses can call Christchurch Police on (03) 363 7400 or you can provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The file number to quote is 160527/8929.
