Crash on Great North Road - delays expected

A person has been seriously injured in a crash on Great North Road, Glen Eden, this morning.
 
The crash, between a car and a van, occurred at 6.35am.
 
The driver of the car has been taken to North Shore Hospital in a serious condition. 
 
The driver of the van is reportedly uninjured. 
 
The Serious Crash Unit has been notified and is en route to the crash scene.
 
Traffic management is in place on Great North Road between Archibald Road and Westech Place – one lane is currently open in each direction.  
 
Motorists are asked to take alternative routes where possible, to avoid significant delays.
