Death in Doyleston - victim named

Police are now able to name the man found in Drain Road in Doyleston.  It’s believed the body may have been there since sometime over the weekend.

He has been forensically identified as Marcus Luke Tucker, a 36-year-old male Maori from Christchurch.

Police can confirm that they have searched Lake Ellesmere with the Police National Dive Squad today in an effort to widen the search for evidence relating to Marcus’ death.

“Our thoughts are with Marcus’ family following this tragic death  I can reassure the community that we are thoroughly investigating the circumstances of his death.” says Detective Inspector Tom Fitzgerald.
