1 min read

Police are continuing to investigate the stabbing that occurred on Sunday 1 May 2016 near the Bottle-O store on the corner of Moray Place and Princes Street Dunedin.

The victim is recovering well and should have no lasting effects from the incident.

After reviewing CCTV footage in and around the intersection of Moray place and Princes Street Police are looking to identify a solid Maori/Polynesian woman and a smaller Maori/Polynesian woman who were seen to be near an altercation by the Bottle-O shop on Moray Place.

Police would also like to identify a male aged 30 to 40 years wearing a black or brown leather jacket who may have been with these woman.

The stabbing may have been a result of an earlier incident inside a nearby night club, but Police cannot not rule out that it was a random act of violence unconnected to the victim.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident to please contact the Dunedin police on (03) 471 4800 or Crime stoppers 0800 555-111.
