At around 1.45pm today a truck and a car were involved in a crash on No 1 Line, Longburn, south of Palmerston North.
As a result of the crash the driver of the car, a 95-year-old man, has died.
The Serious Crash Unit will be investigating the casue of the crash.
The deceased driver's name will not be released until family members have been notified.
