1 min read

A police patrol attempted  to stop a vehicle travelling at excess speed in the central Christchurch area at Worchester Street and Stanmore Road at about 3:30am this morning, 19 May 2016.  The vehicle ignored police requests to stop and drove away at speed from the patrol.

The pursuit was abandoned shortly after due to excessive speeds but the fleeing car was later found at Breezes and Dyers Road where it was finally stopped by the patrol.  A 19 year-old-man will appear in the Christchurch District Court on 14 June, facing charges of Failing to stop for police, Driving with excess breath and Careless driving.  ENDS
