Just after midnight on Saturday 20 September a person was seen to jump or fall from the Bridge Street bridge in Hamilton.

After an extensive search of the river by boat, the man was not located by Police.

The person is believed to be male, around 6 feet tall and wearing dark clothing including a dark hooded top.

Police have not received any reports of a missing person meeting this description.  A member of the public did however report seeing a man soaking wet in Hamilton East in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Police would like to confirm that the man who either jumped or fell from the bridge in the early hours of Saturday morning is safe and well.

If you have any information about the identity and/or wellbeing of this person, please get in touch with Senior Constable Paul Helwig at Hamilton Police on 07 858 6200.
