Hutt Valley shooting incident

1 min read

Police are investigating the discharge of a firearm in Stokes Valley, Lower Hutt overnight.

Emergency services were called just after 2.15am (Thursday 15 September 2016).

Police were told that a man’s parked car had been shot at on George St.

Police and a dog unit immediately attended to secure the scene and provide reassurance.

The empty car appeared to have been shot at once, possibly by a shotgun.

It left a large hole in the driver’s door window. No-one was injured.

There is no description of the person who carried out the shooting.

However, Police are interested in hearing from anyone who saw a dark two-door sedan, possibly a Honda.

The incident will continue to be investigated.

(Police arrested a male nearby who was charged with unrelated offences).
